Green Careers support with Reed in Partnership
As part of this year’s Green Careers Week, Reed in Partnership is holding a series of webinars on a range of related topics.
The Green Careers Week, which takes place from 6 to 11 November, aims to help people get to grips with emerging technologies and careers that will change the world for the better.
Reed in Partnership helps long-term unemployed people into work through the Restart Scheme, which is part of the government’s Plan for Jobs, throughout the North East of England.
Anna Warner, Partnership Manager at Reed in Partnership, said: “Around 60% of young people are ‘worried’ or ‘extremely worried’ about climate change according to research by Bath University in 2021 so we want to highlight the career pathways they can follow to improve the future climate. We will be running a number of Green Career webinars kicking off with ‘What is a green career?”
Green Champions within Reed in Partnership’s Restart offices will endeavour to ensure that their workplaces are environmentally friendly. Some of the tasks they will be responsible for is the efficient use of recycling, encouraging walk to work or cycle to workdays, reducing single use cups, creating a healthy environment by introducing greenery into the offices, and promoting healthy vegetarian lunches.
Anna said: “If any Drum Industrial Estate companies would like to get involved, please get in touch.”
