Donate old clothes to help Chester-le-Street children’s charity
Heel and Toe children’s charity is renewing its appeal for donations in a bid to boost funding for its vital work helping hundreds of children with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities.
Well-wishers can donate clothing, shoes, and bags at the drop off point located at the Co-op Distribution Centre on The Drum Industrial Estate.
Mandy Hammond, Community Fundraiser at the charity, said: No child should be denied therapy due to a lack of money, so fundraising to ensure the continued provision of our services in very important, and we are very grateful for all donations. Gifting old and unwanted clothing and other items also gives people the ideal opportunity for a pre-Christmas de-clutter.”
Heel and Toe provides conductive education, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, massage and movement therapy and hydrotherapy, delivered by qualified paediatric therapists.
The charity drop-off points have been located at the Co-op Distribution Centre since 2018.
Sarah Skillen, Engagement Co-ordinator at Co-op was recently appointed as Ambassador for Heel & Toe, said: “I am honoured to have been asked to take on the role of Ambassador for this great charity. We have done various events to raise funds for them, and I also took part in the Hadrian’s Wall Challenge last year which was a great experience. We continue to support the charity by having one of their Clothes Collection Bins on site for colleagues to donate old or unwanted clothing.”
The donation drop-off point is located at Co-operative Food Primary Logistics Services at Drum Industrial Estate, 2 Drum Rd, Chester-le-Street DH2 1AE.
