County Durham foodbank Christmas appeal
Christmas is a time for food, fun, and family but for people in crisis food banks are a vital lifeline.
Durham Food Bank, part of the nationwide network supported by The Trussell Trust, provide Christmas Hampers in addition to food parcels for local individuals and families in crisis.
To help support those in need this Christmas, the food bank is accepting donations at its Drum Industrial Estate location.
Items needed are:
• Selection boxes
• Mince pies
• Christmas puddings
• Christmas cakes
• Chocolates
• Biscuits
• Tinned salmon
• Savoury nibbles
• Sweets
• Christmas crackers
Financial donations are also welcome and will be used to help cover the costs of storing and distributing food, as well as developing sustainable projects.
Donations are accepted at Unit 7/9 First Avenue, Drum Industrial Estate, Chester le Street, DH2 1AG. The opening hours are Monday to Friday from 9am to 4.30pm.
